Pop star Britney Spears, 44, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol (DUI) in Ventura, California, on March 4.

A friend of Britney Spears reveals a message from the pop star following her DUI arrest in Ventura, California.

According to Ventura County Sheriff's Office records, Spears was arrested Wednesday night, March 4, and released early Thursday morning, March 5. The arrest was classified as a "citation and release" without bail, which was confirmed in a press release by California Highway Patrol (CHP) Moorpark Area Ryan Ayers. A black BMW 430i was reported to the CHP Ventura Communications Center for erratic driving at a high rate of speed and was pulled over. The sole occupant, Ms. Spears, showed signs of impairment and underwent a series of field sobriety tests.

She was subsequently arrested for a violation of California Vehicle Code section 23152(g) for driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, and was booked.

The CHP states that the incident is still under investigation and that the chemical test results are pending.

Britney Spears wants the world to know that she is doing well following her DUI arrest.

Sean Phillip, the singer's longtime friend and former personal assistant, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday to provide an update on the "Toxic" singer, two days after her arrest by the California Highway Patrol.

Phillip said Spears, 44, allowed him to talk about her situation and shared that he texted her, "Are you okay?" The "Baby One More Time" singer replied, "I'm fine," after being released, according to him.

"You have to imagine what she's going through all this time," Phillip added. "And I feel bad that she has to endure public scrutiny."

When GMB hosts asked if Spears should be placed under another conservatorship, Phillip dismissed the idea. He explained that her previous conservatorship, which ended in 2021, was enough to "destroy her." Spears had testified that she had been abused, controlled, and forcibly medicated for 13 years under the legal arrangement.

Phillip said she is "the same Britney I met in 2003" and that she has the strength to overcome this latest legal hurdle.

"I think she's going to be okay," he said. "She's one of the strongest people I've ever met." Sometimes she inspires me to keep going.

"Britney will take the right steps and comply with the law, and I hope this is the first step toward a much-needed change in her life," the representative continued.

The representative hoped the Grammy winner "receives the help and support she needs during this difficult time." Spears will spend time with her children while the rest of her loved ones "work out a much-needed plan to prepare her for success and well-being."
