Keeping children safe as they travel to and from school is one of the most important responsibilities we share as a community That’s why the City of Doral, under the leadership of our Mayor and City Council, is proud to launch a new photo-enforced speed camera program designed to protect our students and promote responsible driving near schools.

This initiative goes into effect at the start of the 2025-2026 school year, on August 14, 2025. It will begin with a 30-day warning period, lasting until September 14, 2025, during which the public will be informed and educated about the new initiative.

It reflects the City’s commitment to proactive public safety, thoughtful innovation, and placing student wellbeing at the forefront of civic decision-making. In partnership with the Doral Police Department, these smart enforcement tools will help reduce speeding, raise awareness in high-risk areas, and give families greater peace of mind during the school year.

More than just cameras, this program represents a collective effort to create safer streets — not just during morning drop-off or afternoon pick-up, but every single school day. On this page, you’ll find everything you need to know: where cameras are located, how they work, when they’re active, and how to avoid violations by simply driving safely and staying alert.
