Doral, FL – On Monday, February 3rd , Mayor Christi Fraga, City Council, Chief of Police Edwin Lopez and members of the Doral Police Department proudly introduced the newest unit in the Doral Police Department – the Aggressive Driving Unit (ADU).

The Doral Police Departments Aggressive Driving Unit (ADU) is a specialized law enforcement team dedicated to identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting drivers who exhibit aggressive and reckless behavior on our roads. They will actively target a range of traffic violations, including speeding and reckless driving, tailgating, unsafe lane changes, running red lights, and road rage incidents. The unit will also focus on enforcing regulations for commercial vehicles, ensuring compliance with disabled parking restrictions, and maintaining safety in school zones.

To achieve its mission, the ADU will employ a multifaceted approach, including:

  • Increased visibility: High-visibility patrols in areas with a high incidence of aggressive driving and traffic violations.
  • Data-driven enforcement: Utilizing data analysis to identify and target specific areas and times for increased enforcement.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other law enforcement agencies and community stakeholders to address traffic safety concerns.
  • Public education: Implementing public awareness campaigns to educate the public about the dangers of aggressive driving and promote safe driving
